Our commitment

The Baer Edge wants everyone to be able to use baeredge.net, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, voice control, magnification or other assistive technology. We are working to make this site easier to use for everyone.

The standard we work to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the W3C. This site partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conforms” means some parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard. We list the ones we know about below.

What we have done

  • We reviewed every page on the site with automated accessibility checks and fixed the issues they found.
  • We improved text contrast so text is easier to read.
  • We made sure the page can be zoomed on phones and tablets.
  • We added a visible outline that shows where you are when you use a keyboard.
  • We added visible labels to our contact form.
  • We gave names to links and buttons that only showed an icon or image.
  • We made the cookie notice usable with a keyboard.

How we tested

We tested every page with automated checkers, and tested key pages with keyboard-only navigation in current versions of Chrome on desktop and mobile screen sizes. We plan to add screen reader testing. We are not claiming that automated or manual testing finds every problem.

Known limitations

  • Some older blog posts may have headings or images that are not fully described. If one of them gives you trouble, contact us and we will send you the information another way.
  • The home page slideshow does not move on its own. Use its arrows to change slides.

Content from other companies

Some parts of this site come from other companies, such as Google reCAPTCHA on our contact form, links to Google Maps and our social media pages. We choose vendors with accessibility in mind, we tell them when we find a problem, and we ask them to fix it. We cannot edit their code ourselves, so if a part from another company does not work for you, contact us and we will help you another way.

We aim to reply within 2 business days. If the fix will take longer, we will tell you the plan and the date we expect to finish. Meanwhile we will give you the information or service another way, for example by phone or by email.
